| ||||
Research Question: Are the expectations of the ESL 100% Graduation Plan being met? What portions of the plan are successful? Where can the plan be improved? Should any part of the plan be deleted? Are there any additions that need to be considered or added?
Goal: To determine the effectiveness of the implemented plan and to adjust, delete, or add new requirements as indicated by research findings.

Tammy,
ReplyDeleteLooks good. I like the 100% graduate plan. You aren't wasting anytime getting started and making changes. I like that you are taking input from all stakeholders- teachers, students and parents.
Best of luck on your plan and I look forward to following your research.
Emily
Tammy- You chose such an important topic! ESL students struggle in so many ways when they become a part of our educational system. Does your plan welcome suggestions from parents regarding tools or strategies that may assist their son/daughter in the instructional process? Your inquiries are insightful and relevant. I am eager to see the outcome of your plan. Great job and good luck! Amy
ReplyDeleteTammy, your action plan looks great, and I love your topic! I like that you're involving all the stakeholders in this process. Just one question, after you implement your action plan, and you collect the data, how will you be sharing your results with the rest of the campus? I know that you're last step was to compare the data gathered after implementation with that of previous years, but I couldn't tell if your were planning doing this just as a committee or you were actually presenting your findings to all the teachers in your campus. Just a thought. :)
ReplyDeleteI like that your plan is detailed. I'm assuming you are focusing your plan on high school students, but the plan doesn't specifically say that. This 100% graduation plan would have to have targeted support in the lower grades as well, but you might want to state the group you'll be studying. That's about all I could come up with for suggestions. Your plan looks great! http://focustheaction.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteVery interesting topic. In our district we have a Bilingual/ESL program director. Does your district have this position? I would meet with this director for your research plan. I like the idea of incorporating good ESL strategies. Also I would also specify what your target/ focus group you will be focusing on. I assume high school but I did not see it specified.
